Dark Knight Rises

Just got back from Dark Knight Rises.  Very good movie, though maybe not quite as good as Dark Knight.  As with Dark Knight, it’s a very gritty, moody movie with a similar theme about the nature of heroes, justice and sacrifice.  It also ties up most of the loose ends from the first movie, Batman Begins.  All-in-all a very good end to an excellent series of movies.

Well, at least, they say it’s the end of the series, but the way Dark Knight Rises ends sort of sets things up for another movie, so if there are hundreds of millions to be made on it, there very well could be a fourth Dark Knight movie.

Cheers.

I agree. The movie does tie up loose ends. It was a challenge for me to watch. I really didn’t care for it. I was distracted by Bane. With the Joker, I felt like he connected as a villain effectively. Bane seemed bigger than life. I never got to know his character. The Joker was almost likable at some level. Bane was not a likable character and so proud. The way that he walked around holding his chest was disturbing. I felt an emotional connection in the other two Batman movies, but not with this movie.

That’s a good point. The Joker was a better villain than Bane and, as you said, even likeable on a certain level. He certainly had a lot more personality than Bane.
